IN THE STEP OF ST. PAUL
14 DAYS WITH 2 DOMESTIC FLIGHTS
1st Day
- Arrival Istanbul and continue to Adana by Turkish Airlines domestic flight. Transfer to hotel for dinner and overnight
2nd Day
- Fullday excursion, Antakya (Biblical Antioch) the headquarters of St. Paul's Missionary Journeys. Visiting St. Peter's grotto and famous mosaics museum. Lunch in Antakya. Return Adana for dinner and overnight.
3rd Day
- Drive from Adana for Konya. Visiting enroute Tarsus, birth place of St. Paul (the Gate of Cleopatra, St. Paul's well). Lunch enroute. Arrival Konya in the afternoon, and before checking in the hotel, a short sightsteeing of Konya with Mausoleum of Mevlana,founder of the sect of the whirling dervishes. Medrese of Karatay, mosque of Alaaddin etc. Dinner and overnight in Konya.
4th Day
- Leave hotel in the morning for Antalya via Yalvac (ancient Psidian Antioch). Lunch at a lake-side restaurant on the Lake Eğirdir. Arrival early in the afternoon in Antalya for a short sightseeing including gate of Hadrian, and archaeological museum. Dinner and overnight in Antalya.
5th Day
- Fullday excursion to Perge, Aspendos and Side (three ancient towns of Greco- Roman civilizations). Lunch in Side. Return Antalya for dinner and overnight.
6th Day
- Depart hotel in the morning and arrive Pamukkale at noon, spa center with its beautiful white travertines. Lunch, dinner and overnight at a nice motel with hot spring swimming pool. Afternoon a visit to ancient Hierapolis and Martyrium of St Philip the Apostle.
7th Day
- Leave motel in the morning for Kuşadası, a summer resort on the aegean. Enroute visiting Laodicea, one of the seven churches, and Aphrodisias, another of the grecoroman towns, Lunch at a typical turkish restaurant near Aphrodisias. Continue to Kuşadası for dinner and overnight.
8th Day
- Morning excursion to Priene. Miletus and Dydima.Priene and Miletus are the two cities of hellenistic era. At Dydima you will admire the temple of Apollo of 2nd Century B.C. After having lunch in Selçuk you will visit the famous ruins of Ephesus with its marble streets, temples, agoras, etc. and House of Virgin Mary, Basilica of St. John. Continue to Izmir for dinner and overnight.
9th Day
- Fullday excursion to Sardes and Philadelphia, two of the seven churches of Revelation. In Sardes, you will see a roman gymnasium with a synagogue in its courtyard, and temple of Artemis. In Philadelphia, visiting the city walls and frescoes on the arches of an early christian church, you will return Izmir for
dinner and overnight.
10th Day
- Leave hotel after breakfast for Thyatira and Pergamum thus you will cover two more of the seven churches. Especially in Pergamum, you will see acropolis, ancient hospital, archaeological museum, temple of Serapis. After lunch continue to Ayvalik for dinner and overnight at a seaside hotel.
11th Day
- Leave hotel in the morning for Çanakkale, a town on the Dardanelles. Visiting enroute Assos and Alexander Troas, the two places visited by St. Paul, and famous ruins of Troy. Lunch enroute. Dinner and overnight in Çanakkale.
12th Day
- Leave Çanakkale in the morning and cross Dardanelles by a ferry from Asia to Europe. Lunch on the european side of Dardanelles. Continue to Istanbul for dinner and overnight.
13th Day
- Morning bosphorus cruise seing enroute the Castle of Mohammed the Conqueror, fishing villages etc. Lunch on the bosphorus. Afternoon Topkapi palace with its treasury, china collection, harem sections, Mosque of (Soliman the Magnificent), and Grand Covered Bazaar, Dinner at the hotel.
14th Day
- Morning transfer to airport for departure flight.
